This is the last movie out in the theaters that I would choose to go see on Christmas, but as a family we do every year and this year we wanted to make it a special Christmas for our Mother. So since she loves horses and spent her summers on her Uncle's farm in Idaho we went to see War Horse for her.
Thank god we decided to have an unselfish movie experience this year to show her how much we care or I may have missed this extremely human experience. If your think this movie is all about a horse then you need to get off your high horse and go enjoy this unique ride through a human story that crosses generations and country lines in the chaotic times of world war. This is no simple tale of heroism but rather the struggle of humanity in their worst of time to rise up above the moment and be someone better than the majority.
This movie is filled with beautifully arranged cinematography on an epic scale that is worthy of the name Spielberg and the writing will move you through an array of emotions as the War Horse crosses paths with many different characters in the film. Yes, this movie has many great characters with well written dialogue that makes you fall in love with each one of their quirks and you will recognize a score of wonderful character actors that deserve your praise.
Not to give anything away, I will just say that in unusual circumstances it is amazing to see what the human spirit can accomplish once we set aside our childish differences and come together for a simple cause. This movie surprised me pleasantly and I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. If you can walk out of this movie feeling nothing than you are soulless. This movie stirred me in the deepest sense and made me contemplate the complexity of being a human being. To quote my sister Tina, "It's funny how we worry about treating animals humanly and we can't treat humans with humanity."
Learn something about yourself and go see this movie.
War Horse is the Black Stallion of our time. This movie is a moving story with big heart and lots of character.

#GoodByeChuck
The other night I was filming for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles creator Kevin Eastman at his signing event in Meltdown Comics on Sunset Boulevard. I was able to have a follow up conversation with Shoot 'Em Up writer and director, Michael Davis, about what I've been up to since our first meeting on the set of Agent 88, a film by Digger T. Mesch, and his reaction surprised me.
I told him that I was about to interview the cast of NBC's Chuck.
He is a fan of the show and had a lot of nice things to say about Zachary Levi. Michael was wondering why we haven't seen him as a lead in more movies and I've heard the same thing all over the social media sites. He also said that he hopes Levi picks his next roll coming up carefully. Zachary Levi has shown characteristics of James Bond, Jerry Lewis, Han Solo, and Sam Malone in his roll on Chuck. We both agreed that we think that will change with the opening up of his schedule. I think those opportunities will be right around the corner and down the road we will see Zachary Levi in more movie roles. He is a charismatic actor and has proven to be a class act to his fans and helped many children through his charity works. He is an extremely nice guy and deserves all the success in the world.
Though Andrew Greenbury, editor of Agent 88, and I did forget to ask Michael Davis if Shoot 'Em Up was based on Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny? He took off before we got around to asking him. I'll keep that on my to do list.
Chuck wraps up shooting next week on the final season and the fans are already screaming for a Chuck movie or reunion show down the road; and all this before Chuck has even returned from hiatus. The tweets from cast members describe the set as very emotional in these final days and the twitter followers are no different. Chuck has been one my favorite shows over the years and am sad to see it end, but excited to see what new projects Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez, Adam Baldwin, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Sarah Lancaster, Ryan McPartlin, Scott Krinsky, and Vik Sahay land next.
I look forward to asking some of the great question coming in from Twitter to the cast on Tuesday's #GoodByeChuck Press Day and love has been pouring in for the cast and crew of Chuck. Here is some of that love.

Chuck
NBC's Chuck is in it's final season.
Sad to say that Chuck will see it's last day on NBC, and it's off to another great season thus far. Chuck, over the years, has been through a lot. The series has been struggling to survive for the last several seasons and with some of the most loyal fans around Chuck is on it's Fifth and Final Season; and Chuck has been betrayed by his college roommate, had a super computer implanted in his head, forced to become a spy, found his dad, lost his dad, found his mom, lost his mom, won the girl of his dreams, lost the girl of his dreams, tried to quit being a spy, married the girl of his dreams, had the super computer removed from his head, and so much more.....
The writing is always very tongue in cheek and full of pop culture references that cross through the generations. Chuck has had a number of great cameos over the years and have embraced the geek movement and nerd empowerment in every episode with great crossovers stars like: Mark Hammil (Star Wars), Linda Hamilton (Terminator), Summer Glau (Firefly), Timothy Dalton (James Bond), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Torsten Voges (Die Hard), Udo Kier (Blade), Carl Lumbly (Justice League), Diedrich Bader (Batman and The Drew Carey Show), Louis Lambardi (The Sopranos), Arnold Vosloo (The Mummy), Brian Thompson (The X-Files), Adoni Maropis (24), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Mark Shepard (Firefly and Battlestar Galactica), Andy Richter (Conan), Cedric Yarbrough (Reno 911), "Stone Cold" Steve Austin (WWE), Robert Picardo (Stargate Atlantis and Star Trek: Voyager), Faran Tahir (Iron Man and 24), Gary Cole (Office Space), Tony Todd (Candyman), C. S. Lee (Dexter), John Larroquette (Night Court), Vinnie Jones (Snatch and X-Men: The Last Stand), Tony Hale (Arrested Development), Ana Gasteyer (Saturday Night Live), Dolph Lundgren (Rocky IV), Isaiah Mustafa (Oldspice Guy), Shaun Toub (Iron Man and The Last Airbender), Bronson Pinchot (Perfect Strangers and Beverly Hills Cop), Stacey Keibler (WWE), James Hong (Big Trouble In Little China), Tony Sirico (The Sopranos), Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk), Armand Assante (Judge Dredd), Mark Pellegrino (Dexter/LOST/Supernatural), Olivia Munn (Attack of the Show), Reginald VelJohnson (Die Hard), Kristin Kreuk (Smallville), Robert Patrick (Terminator 2), Batista (WWE), Joel David Moore (Avatar and Bones), Eric Roberts (Dark Knight), Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Chevy Chase (Community/Spies Like Us/Caddy Shack), Bruce Boxleitner (Babylon 5), Brandon Routh (Superman), and Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap and Star Trek: Enterprise) to name a few.
Zachary Levi (Chuck), Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah), Adam Baldwin (Casey), Joshua Gomez (Morgan), Ryan McPartlin (Awesome), Mark Christopher Lawrence (Big Mike), Sarah Lancaster (Ellie), Scott Krinsky (Jeff), and Vik Sahay (Lester) saving the best for last. This tight nit group of actors have taken their fans on a great ride and it has been a pleasure to watch their growth as acting professionals and as friends on the show. Their chemistry is immediately palpable through the boob tube and they can make any Comic Con a lively event. They have always been very gracious to their fans and have given back to them through the many fan sites, twitter, and facebook. Zachary Levi and friends even created a site dedicated to nerd activities and involvement of the community of nerds everywhere at http://thenerdmachine.com/
Chuck has been one of my favorite shows and it will be missed. Get them on DVD!!
Thank you for the memories and the fluid combination of comedy, action, drama, and all around nerd and geek moments from television.

The Voice is a Winner!
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/07/01/s_3299.jpg)
Javier Colon is the winner of The Voice Season 1, but there were no losers on The Voice. Everyone involved in this epic new reality competition on NBC is a winner. From the producers, director, DP, editors, Carson Daly, Cristina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, the finalists....to the live audience members in attendance and home viewers. Everybody wins, but Charlie Sheen and maybe American Idol.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/07/01/s_3302.jpg)
The Voice is everything that American Idol is not and wishes it could be. The judges are not just judges, but are coaches guiding these raw talents through the journey of self discovery and go from coach to friends in no time at all.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/07/01/s_3303.jpg)
Cee Lo Green,

Cristina Aguilera,
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/07/01/s_3305.jpg)
Adam Levine,
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/07/01/s_3306.jpg)
and Blake Shelton are famous names with famous faces that most people couldn't identify with, on a personal level, until they were humanized on The Voice and came into our homes.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/07/01/s_3311.jpg)
The warmth and comradery from this show is what's missing from so many other shows, with Talent in the title, on TV; and those other of America's Talent shows can learn a few things from The Voice on NBC. Sure the freaks of society are good for television, but we want to see the truly talented and inspiring. Not the people you want to laugh at.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/07/01/s_3312.jpg)
As a music lover it is disappointing turning on the radio these days and hearing rock song covered by artists in hip hop, pop, rock, and now country too.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/07/01/s_3313.jpg)
The Voice is putting original spins on timeless and classic songs from the past, but above and beyond that they are creating original songs for their finalists to be judged on and they are very good. The contestants were aloud to play some of their favorite instruments through out the show and it was Cee Lo Green who publicly applauded the show for that very thing. Yes, Cee Lo, I agree. It is nice to see musicians and not just singers, but to showcase those multitalented artists that have been working hard at honing their craft. It may sound like I am knocking singers or other singing shows and I am and I am not at the same time. Each show has it's own identity and is it's own experience, but I can go to any bar and find karaoke going on any day of the week. I want to see musicianship. Not somebody singing the same old song.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/07/01/s_3315.jpg)
Down the Road Show is about stories on a human level with Positivity. We applaud NBC's The Voice for it's uplifting program and innovative thinking on a social level. They went far beyond what any other TV show has to include the public in the experience of the show and made them a big part of it through social media networking hosted by Alison Haislip fielding questions from Twitter and Facebook live.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/07/01/s_3316.jpg)
Alison did a wonderful job as the Social Media connection to The Voice's Contestants and provided lots of great behind the scenes material for the fans of the show to view in her network.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/07/01/s_3317.jpg)
Carson Daly was a great host for The Voice and it had a very old school TRL kind of energy about it that Carson even acknowledged himself. Carson Daly is very personable and is a perfect fit as the host.
The Voice on NBC is a big hit and deservingly so. It is now my favorite Reality Contest on TV. See you in my home soon. Sing it Season 2 of The Voice on NBC!

Spring Finales 2011
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/06/07/s_2193.jpg)
Smallville has an epic ending filled with Super symbolism.
Say what you will about Smallville and their series finale, but for my money that was perfect. John Schneider is one hell of an actor. Not only he did he pull on my emotional heart strings in the finale, but he kept one really big secret about the finale when we interviewed him and filmed him and Alaina Huffman at the Smallville Panel for Wizard World Anaheim.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/06/07/s_2197.jpg)
He had no problem informing everyone at Wizard World that he would indeed be in the series finale, but (Spoiler alert:) to have to hold back the fact that his character, Jonathan Kent, hands Clark, Tom Welling, the Superman right before his big fight with Darkside must have been killing him. He did everything to make us believe that we would not even see the suit, but would be happy anyway. Or at least that is how I took it. If you think they over did the Superman thing for the finale then you are looking at it all wrong. Before debating whether or not Tom Welling should have worn the suit; you should think about how hard it is to get permission from DC to even show the symbol let alone the suit in it's entirety. Not to mention the score from the Superman Movie franchise is not easy to get permission for either. Instead of focusing on the would've or should've I choose to focus on the congratulations. Congratulations on ten years of fun entertainment.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/06/07/s_2198.jpg)
Congratulations on stringing out the inevitable transformation of Clark Kent to Superman.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/06/07/s_3861.jpg)
Congratulations on superb placement of both an iconic symbol and suit, and for enhancing the mood of the entire Series Finale of WB's Smallville with the epic music that is directly tied to Superman. The score put me over the edge......and yes you were right, John Schneider,.....I stood up in my living room and cheered!!!!!
Thanks WB for a Super run.
Thanks and I will miss you Smallville.
The Chuck season finale has a twist ending with the intersect.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/06/07/s_2199.jpg)
I was worried about the Season Finale of Chuck on NBC. Was it going to be the series or season finale and were they prepared for it to end so suddenly. Suddenly may not be the right word since they have had to fight for every returning season, but I was pleased to go online and find out that they were renewed for one last and Final Season 5. Thank you for that NBC and all the Chuck sponsors.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/06/07/s_2200.jpg)
So the Season 4 Finale of Chuck starts off where the last episode left off: with Sara dying in Chuck's arms at their wedding dinner. As my mom would say,"They just can't seem to catch a break." However, this is Chuck and there is always a twist or two in their storyline, and the finale is no different. In my opinion it was their best wrap up to a season so far, and looking back they wrote it so it could have ended there with all new questions and new adventures on the horizon; but that would have pisses me off and I'm all kinds of excited for next season to see
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/06/07/s_2201.jpg)
(Spoiler Alert: ) The Bearded Avenger or M.007 aka Morgan Grimes as the Intrtsect. At least that's what I'm calling him. I'm sure that Zachary, Josh, and the producers will come up with something catchy and witty for next season, but until then I will call him M.007 or The Bearded Avenger. I can't pick one, yet. I loved the fact that Morgan came to and used the Season 2 Finale line from Chuck,"Guys, I know Kung Fu!". Not to mention the,"As You Wish" from the best movie of all time "Princess Bride".
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/06/07/s_3873.jpg)
Chuck's writing has always been sly at the homage lines from great movies and sitcoms. Even some of the shots are homage shots to some classic epic scenes. So pay close attention, because I'm sure their Final Season will be jam packed with little shout outs and more homages.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/06/07/s_3874.jpg)
Thank you for the chance to wrap up the series correctly, NBC.
Congratulations on a 5th and Final Season Chuck. It will be a fun year on Chuck and I wait impatiently to see what twists the team will have to deal with next. See ya next season Chuck!
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/06/07/s_2204.jpg)
What are you doing to me Fringe?
Besides keeping me glued to the tv for every single second of the season finale. My family is really pissed off right now and I don't blame them. I'm pissed off too, but not for the same reason. Yes I too am mad and anxious to find out about Peter, but not like my sisters and niece for their crush on Joshua Jackson. Now if you want to talk celebrity crush then I'll take Anna Torv. She is so beautiful, but that's beside the point. Where is Peter Bishop? When will he be back? Will he be back? Did he ever exist?
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/06/07/s_2205.jpg)
I am left with more questions than answers after that finale than I ever had before. It's like I'm watching LOST all over again, but so much better. Will the two newly merged worlds be able to co-exist? And if there are two parallel universes; then are there more out their? Stands to reason that where there are two there are numerous versions out there. And what else to those bald Observers know that they aren't telling us? And where do they come from? Plus they got involved too so they are crappy observers. More like Involvers. I also wonder which Walter will break first and start this war all over or find another universe with an all new Peter?
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/06/07/s_2206.jpg)
Questions and more questions!! Like you I will just have to wait to find out. If you have not been watching Fringe then so yourself a favor and choke down season 1, because after that the show really takes off and you will be forever sucked into the alternate reality that Fringe provides.
Great job Fringe! You are worth the wait. See you next season!
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/06/07/s_2208.jpg)
Supernatural takes it super crazy!
There is a new God in town and he means business too. The entire finale was awesome, but the last scene really drives it home. Hate it or love it, but either way it left people debating for days afterward. I loved it. That takes some serious balls to end a season like that. Shaking the foundation of millions of religion's beliefs and posing the question: "What if?" "What if we got a new god?"
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/06/07/s_2209.jpg)
We are all screwed is my answer. Castiel may be helping the boys out of some sticky situations in the past, but I don't believe is going to play nice anymore and I'm not sure how fond he is of mortals to begin with. Especially any mortals who don't recognize his ultimate power as the New God. This last season was a wild ride and I am excited to see how things turn out next season.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/06/07/s_2211.jpg)
WB has big brass balls for their direction on Supernatural. Keep shaking the foundation, Supernatural , and let's see what structures crumble to dust.
Supernatural will be back with all new adventures in good and evil for next season with the boys. WB keep them coming!
Those were my favorite season and series Finales for Spring 2011. See some of you next year.

Dancing With The Stars hits hard with the NFL!
I love sports and especially football season. As a Steelers fan the off season has been gut wrenching after the lose in the Superbowl, but at least I can get my Hines Ward fix on Dancing With The Stars.
However, I'm not the only one missing the NFL in the off season. Baltimore reporters and Raven fans have united to vote for any one on Dancing With The Stars, but Hines Ward. So I am urging the opposite from all Pittsburgh reporters and all Steelers fans out there. Let's unite together as Steelers Nation and send Hines Ward to the show finale for the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy. If you've watched past season then you won't be surprised that once again a football player is close to doing his celebration end zone dance on DWTS again. As much as it pains me to say how good he was, but Emit Smith is a former DWTS champion and I'm looking to Hines to continue that NFL reign. Now the city of Baltimore can vote for everybody else all that they want too, because that will be their undoing. If they are dividing their votes amongst the other contestants and all the Steelers fans vote for Hines Ward then we will win the votes. We can send him all the way together.
So keep that back straight, shoulders up, and stay light on your feet, Hines, and dance circles around your competition. Steelers Nation has your back.
Oh, and no surprise that wrestler Jericho is also tearing it up. Props to you too big guy.
For you men out there! It's okay to sit down and watch some Dancing With The Stars. That's why they put awesome athletes on the show and it's loaded with beautiful women. To get your attention. The professional dancers are amazingly skilled and are extremely athletic pros. I dare you to pick your beer belly self up off the couch and try what these pros are doing on Dancing With The Stars. Don't give yourself a heart attack ,though; and fair warning that regular dancing will make you more fit and may improve your relationship with your significant other. Those are just a few side effects. It may also cause a surge of self esteem.
So sit and enjoy Dancing With The Stars with your lady or fellow. The NFL is right around the corner, but until then vote for Hines Ward, Steelers Nation. Maybe, Hines, can do what Chad Ochocinco could not do.

Wizard World has got it going Con!
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/05/04/s_3963.jpg)
There are lots of Cons across the country for many reasons and there are a bunch of Comic Cons put on by many companies out there, but my Heroes of Comic Con are Wizard World!
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/05/03/s_3559.jpg)
Anaheim Wizard World is not even close to one of the big Cons they put on in other cities, but it's not small by any means and they have what a lot of the giant Comic Cons are lacking... Comics, Comic Artists and Creators, and a good sized artist alley with plenty of walking room.
Oh yes, they have the major corporate sponsors and great celebrities to meet and geek out about; but they have not forgotten the reason that Comic Cons rose up like a pheonix all over the United States. You can have all the actors, directors, producers, and studio executives in the world at your Con to promote their Comic based movie; but that seems a little insulting to the original creators, artists, and publishers, stuffed away in a small corner of artist alley, that worked hard to get those published in the first place. I understand that the Cons are another business that needs to show a profit, but now the Cons are acting like the suits by screwing over the little guys and squashing their creative spirits. The world needs more Tony Stark types with the corporate power and the will to stand up for what's right. The starving artists!
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/05/04/s_3964.jpg)
What happened to protecting the arts and feeding the creative spirit in this society? I am not content with the usual remaking of old tv shows, comic books, and old movies into revamped pieces of crap. It's so easy for them to put out these movies and they know that all the fans will run out to see it... no matter what. Most go because they are fans of the original work and then their are the bloggers, podcasters, and streamers that need something to talk about and bash. Well most of them are so fanatical that they will never be happy and only pick it apart, because they wrote their own version of it. However, that doesn't mean the rest of the fans aren't out their paying attention too. We don't want you destroying the purity of what a real Comic Book provided all of us as kids. As adults we still need that fantasy world and an escape from the realities of our real lives even more then we did as children. Did the suits forget that kid inside? Stop counting your money and look up to count smiles instead, and the more smiles you see the more money you will be able to count in the end. Happiness is it's own currency and it is much more satisfying to know that you have made something that people enjoy and want to feel like they are apart of. In my opinion.
Marvel is excluded from my rant, because they have turned a corner in their film making, in the recent years, and representation of the original materials that they are trying to honor and pay homage too.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/05/03/s_3561.jpg)
Well you too can be a part of Wizard World. They have not forgotten about the little people that are struggling to make ends meat or trying to get noticed by one of the top three... Marvel, DC, and Dark Horse. Their Artist Alley was very large and had nice big aisles for walking and stopping to talk with any artist that catches your eye or an artist that worked on your boy hood/girl hood hero. I ran into friends, well known artists, and some familiar artists I've met at other Cons; but at Wizard World Anaheim they were not cramped together like herded cattle. Many artists told me that it was a very refreshing experience and that they felt that it provided better opportunity to talk with fans and reach out to make new fans. I have become a fan of a few new artists because of their set up in Anaheim, but I will talk about them on the podcast instead of the blog.
You want your celebrity fix?
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/05/03/s_3562.jpg)
Wizard World still has some great actors, actresses, directors, and producers that are amazingly accessible; which was another topic that I heard many people talking about, besides my crew. It's true too! Not only were they very accessible, but they were happy to be there and extremely kind, nice, friendly, and patient as hell with my obnoxious ass. Not to mention they were good to my merry band of misfits...my crew! I can't change me; though many have tried and lost that war. Of course their are still lines for your favorites and you will get your chances to have a nerd melt down in front of them before their publicist calls over security to remove you and your overly excited freaky ways. That may or may not have almost happened to me when I met John Schneider! Bring your wallet though, because nothing in life is free. Which Charles Fleischer was good enough to remind me every time I walked by... followed by a don't forget FU! UStream.com/FU is his show every Tuesday night, and no I'm not sure if he was reminding me to plug his show or just F-ing with me. I suspect it was both! Ernie Hudson was there in full on Ghostbusters garb and was genuinely jealous of some proton packs that some fans had made. I too am bummed that Stargate Universe was canceled, but what isn't a bummer is being able to meet Alaina Huffman from the show and also from Smallville. She has a series currently on MTV.com called Agent Mom that you should check out. If you only watch the SyFy channel and that's not good enough then how about Cylon 6? That's right Battle Star Galactica's Tricia Helfer was signing photos from GSG. Smallville turns Clark into Superman
That was good stuff. I laughed so hard at Booster Gold. A Super Hero with sponsors all over his suit. That is funny and brilliant. Why aren't more Super Heroes going after major corporate sponsors these days? Aquaman is now sponsored by Sea World and PETA. Wolverine is now sponsored by Happy Nails Salon and Spandex. Batman is sponsored by Gotham Sky Divers Association and Gotham Pest Control. The Flash is now sponsored by Fed Ex and G3 Flash Drives. Hawk Man is sponsored by Southwest. I personally find the entire concept hilarious. Could Booster Gold be more of a cheesy character? I think not. They even added the extra twinkle from the teeth when he smiled, cheesy lines, and overly acted poses for the paparazzi. Booster Gold is the quasi super hero you love to hate.
Super Awesomeness at it's best! Smallville has been very clever in it's writing not to use any Superman tag lines and Superman traditions directly, but rather sneaky and round about ways.
Clark Kent has finally embraced his alter ego as the bumbling fool that clumsily follows Lois Lane around like a lost puppy. I like how they have set it up as a plan to do so. It's a nice twist from the Superman movies and a flash back to season one when Clark was like that around Lana; and didn't understand why and now it's intentional. I'm loving the direction Smallville is taking with Clark turning into Superman.
If their is any doubt in your mind that Tom Welling is the new Superman then you need to watch the last episode. Maybe it was just me, but when Clark ran into the phone booth for the Super speedy change; I about died of happiness. Way to fit that in Smallville and the end of the episode with the traditional shirt ripping open was good too. What I next from Smallville? I don't know, but I can't wait to watch.
Thank you for giving us Superman back, Smallville!

Fringe on FOX
The Last Episode of Fringe was Awesome!
Friday's episode of Fringe could not have tried any harder to satisfy the geek inside of me and they did. I'm a big advocate of this show and have enjoyed the dual universe dilemma that has been on going. Plus, it never hurts to have Spock, Leonard Nemoy, as a guest staring genius friend of Walter's, John Noble, and how how much fun must it be for, Anna Torv, Olivia Dunham, to channel his character and impersonate his speech patterns. I am fascinated by dual personalities and split time on characters by actors. Playing the same person, but in two different ways can not be an easy task for any actor/actress. Creating a believable character is a difficult process that a lot of film actors/actresses don't get to see until it has been releases on the big screen. It is the director and editor that actually take the best takes from the actor/actress and create from those the actual character and their traits. With such a short tuen around process on TV it becomes more important to capture the essence of the character before they say action. Their is no room for error and not enough time create that feeling in the editing room. I believe. I thought Anna Torv did a great job interpreting the mannerisms and voice of Leonard Nemoy. Great job, Anna.
I also have a fondness for comics and cartoons. This last episode of Fringe went total cartoon on me. Awesome! They looked cool as cartoons and it was an inventive way to use it in the story line. It kind of had an early 90's or late 80's cartoon look and feel about it, and they could easily put out the entire show in that format and I would still watch it.
Of course to get to this magical cartoon world they would have to do LSD, which Walter is very familiar with, and enter into Olivia's mind; which is full of pit falls. I had a good laugh when Agent Phillip Broyles, Lance Reddick, accidentally got dosed with acid and started tripping balls. Lance was very convincing and funny yet sad at the same time. Good job.
I am very excited to see how the rest of the season plays out. Will one of the universes be destroyed? Can peace be made or is the machine be used for destruction?
Tune in to find out.

Recent Guests On The "Down The Road" Show...
Greet's everyone ~
We have been quite busy setting up some great interviews with special guests for our upcoming shows, kicking things off back in November, 2010 with members of the the Dub / Reggae / Roots music band "All Night Pressure" joining us in the room here at Arzola Studios. Musicians Ryan Byrne (Vocals), Chris Ellis (Guitar, Vocals) and José Camacho (Bass) came in and performed live during our interview and premiered their latest track exclusively on our show, and we plan to have them join us again in the near future.
March, 2011 had proven to be very busy for us as well, as we were fortunate to have Hip-Hop / R & B artist and actor J'Wai Davis come in for an interview and live music performance. J'wai discussed his upcoming projects and music plans, and also performed an exclusive track for the show as well.
A few weeks later, The "Down The Road Show" was proud to welcome actor and comedian Mark Christopher Lawrence ("Big Mike" on NBC's series "Chuck") to join us for our entire DTR broadcast. Mark was very fun and easy going with our usual antics that day, and he talked in detail about his current and upcoming acting and comedic stand-up projects that we will be sure to discuss and share more in the coming months with you all.
For various photos and video selections / links from these appearances mentioned above and more, be sure to check out our fan page on Facebook soon! Be sure to join us as a "fan" on our page there, as well... we like the company and enjoy the comments that you all share with us.

To Superman or not to Superman?
Smallville is back and it's got a double dose of Tom Welling, as Clark Kent/The Blur/Smallville/Evil Clark or what ever other nickname you prefer and I like that they are playing with dual universes. It's very Fringe of them. It must be cool to be able to play, in one episode, the good Clark Kent and the bad Clark Kent from the other universe. This is a great episode to begin the ending of the series and it is completed by a Kent vs Kent, Clark vs Clark, Good vs Evil battle of the Super kind; that is over before you can blink.
It was good to see John Schneider again in the episode.
I missed that good ole Duke boy!
Don't get too excited though if you are watching it on your dvr and fast forward through the little teasers coming back from the commercials you will miss some great stuff. Like a great shot of Tom Welling standing still, very stoic, and the shadow that he casts wears the cape flapping from his shoulders behind him in the wind.
Leaving the question all Smallville fans are debating!
When do you show Clark Kent as Superman?
I've listened to a lot of podcasts and read a number of Blogs, Twitters, and Facebook discussions about it; and there are a number of opinions out there.
Show him in full Superman costume saving the day or just a glimpse of him flying off? Just barely show the emblem or a shadow of the cape? Don't show anything or show it all? To Superman or not too Superman? That is the question?
There is no way to please every geek and nerd out there with the ending of WB's Smallville saga, but you can give us a few alternate endings on the DVD release.
I'm just saying?! "That would be cool"
So.......
My opinion is simple. I have not been watching this show, religiously, for ten seasons to get a crap ending with a lame teaser of what he will become. Tom Welling is every bit Superman to me as Christopher Reeves was and always will be.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/04/16/s_289.jpg)
I would have no problem seeing Tom Welling in the last ten minutes of the series turn from Clark Kent into Superman and save Metropolis and Lois Lane or at least have him flying of, through the clouds, in the suit. I think that Tom Welling has put so much time and development into this character that it would fall flat and feel awkward if he didn't wear the suit. Don't you? It would be another LOST ending!$&@?! It is an honor to wear the Superman suit and I think Tom Welling has earned the right to end an era and great television show as Superman.

C2E2
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/03/25/s_632.jpg)
Where do I begin? I like the beginning.
I'd only ever been to the San Diego Comic Con before and my buddy, Wes Huffor, had invited me to a few smaller local Cons in the SoCal area. He was unsuccessful in convincing me to go, but some how used his super powers to get me to fly across the country for another Con all together.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/03/25/s_633.jpg)
Wes Huffor is an amazing artist, besides a good friend, that I was introduced to after my first SDCC from our mutual friend, Ed Mazmanian; and when I put a post on Facebook looking for a Comic Artist, to do some work for hire, he responded. Two hours later I was emailed the rough sketches that would become my album cover for 'Sunlit World'. http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/sunlit-world/id353809776?i=353809869&ign-mpt=uo%3D4
Go Get 'Charnel House'!
Check out Wes Huffor's art and talent here: www.weshuffor.com

So I was C2E2 bound with no looking back!
http://www.c2e2.com
http://www.twitter.com/C2E2
Well now I'm back home, in California, and it's time to take a look back.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/03/25/s_635.jpg)
C2E2 is only in it's 2nd year as a Con and it's growing up fast. Talk on the floor was that it had doubled in size from year one. I personally saw the occupancy double from Friday to Saturday and the C2E2 has lots of room for growth. The Chicago Convention Center is fraking huge and the C2E2 only takes up a small portion of the West Wing. So I never got to see the East Wing that is connected to the Hyatt Hotel on McCormick Place; which is a great place to stay with an excellent staff and a bar that didn't realize how much geeks can really drink.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/03/25/s_636.jpg)
Superman, Batman, and Wesley
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/03/25/s_637.jpg)
Wes and Wesley (this one makes me laugh)
The floor was still easy to maneuver through compared to SDCC at C2E2's busiest moments and had a nice casualness about it. A lot of people I talked to, wandering around the floor, have only been to the C2E2; with some that would travel to a few close Cons. It's a very low percentage of people that I met that had traveled a great distance to come to C2E2 and they seemed a little more timid then SD Comic-Coners. That excludes talent, vendors, artists, promoters and the big corporations that are here doing there thing; plus a lot of local talent represented, which is always cool to see and meet. There was a podcast section full of great podcasts (links at the end) and great people that I had a great time getting to know; and I was even invited, by Sean Whelan who is half of a DC Comics based podcast duo, to sit down for a quick discussion about my viral campaign to get WB's Smallville to use my new single, 'Villain or Hero'( http://soc.li/OR925oX ), in it's long awaited series finale. You can here that interview soon at their website. http://www.ragingbullets.com Then I met the group from POP! and had a great time with that crazy group chatting it up till the early hours of the morning just before I caught a cab for O'Hare Airport. After, I had left for home they went over to interview my boy, Wes, and you should be able to see that soon. http://www.panelsonpage.com

![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/03/25/s_640.jpg)
C2E2 is not a circus, yet; and is a nice change of pace for anyone looking to promote at a different Con. Everyone was super friendly and you will walk away with new friends too. Like one of my favorite people, Steve from: http://comicbookqueers.com
What are you looking for? I found a lot of great stuff that I wasn't looking for and you will too.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/03/25/s_641.jpg)
Don't come here looking for a big video game section, like at SDCC; or that big flamboyant corporation feel with all the bells and whistles. There is still a lot to see and lots of things going on with the usual stages here and there. There are plenty of lines that lead to top and legendary names from Marvel Comics and DC Comics; not to mention some signings from celebrities from TV and Movies.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/03/25/s_642.jpg)
It has all the things a Con should have. On a social level this place is amazing; because it has not got all mucked up by the big wigs, yet. However, if this Con keeps progressing and growing the way it is then the talent, people, fans, and corporate suits will follow. Get in line behind me, because I will see you all there next year. I know this place is going to get crazier year after year and crazy likes me.
![](http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/11/03/25/s_643.jpg)

Yep, the C2E2 has some panels for you to choose from, but not the crazy assortment that you have to plan a whole weekend around. There is a schedule conveniently spread on the side of a wall and volunteers posted near so that you can ask for directions and harass them about bacon and other random topics. Maybe that was just me, though. The major Hollywood vibe has not made it out here to this scene,so far; and I wonder if it will embrace Chicago like it has San Diego. San Diego is just a few hours for a lot of the Hollywood types and easy to come and go. I never need a reason to go to San Diego and after visiting Chicago I don't need a reason to visit that city now; but it isn't an hour drive from home, or 2 hours depending on traffic, and I can't go there on a whim. However, now, I have a reason to go the same time every year to Chicago; besides all the music spots in Chicago that ROCK!
