Smallville turns Clark into Superman
That was good stuff. I laughed so hard at Booster Gold. A Super Hero with sponsors all over his suit. That is funny and brilliant. Why aren't more Super Heroes going after major corporate sponsors these days? Aquaman is now sponsored by Sea World and PETA. Wolverine is now sponsored by Happy Nails Salon and Spandex. Batman is sponsored by Gotham Sky Divers Association and Gotham Pest Control. The Flash is now sponsored by Fed Ex and G3 Flash Drives. Hawk Man is sponsored by Southwest. I personally find the entire concept hilarious. Could Booster Gold be more of a cheesy character? I think not. They even added the extra twinkle from the teeth when he smiled, cheesy lines, and overly acted poses for the paparazzi. Booster Gold is the quasi super hero you love to hate.
Super Awesomeness at it's best! Smallville has been very clever in it's writing not to use any Superman tag lines and Superman traditions directly, but rather sneaky and round about ways.
Clark Kent has finally embraced his alter ego as the bumbling fool that clumsily follows Lois Lane around like a lost puppy. I like how they have set it up as a plan to do so. It's a nice twist from the Superman movies and a flash back to season one when Clark was like that around Lana; and didn't understand why and now it's intentional. I'm loving the direction Smallville is taking with Clark turning into Superman.
If their is any doubt in your mind that Tom Welling is the new Superman then you need to watch the last episode. Maybe it was just me, but when Clark ran into the phone booth for the Super speedy change; I about died of happiness. Way to fit that in Smallville and the end of the episode with the traditional shirt ripping open was good too. What I next from Smallville? I don't know, but I can't wait to watch.
Thank you for giving us Superman back, Smallville!
