Fringe on FOX

The Last Episode of Fringe was Awesome!

Friday's episode of Fringe could not have tried any harder to satisfy the geek inside of me and they did. I'm a big advocate of this show and have enjoyed the dual universe dilemma that has been on going. Plus, it never hurts to have Spock, Leonard Nemoy, as a guest staring genius friend of Walter's, John Noble, and how how much fun must it be for, Anna Torv, Olivia Dunham, to channel his character and impersonate his speech patterns. I am fascinated by dual personalities and split time on characters by actors. Playing the same person, but in two different ways can not be an easy task for any actor/actress. Creating a believable character is a difficult process that a lot of film actors/actresses don't get to see until it has been releases on the big screen. It is the director and editor that actually take the best takes from the actor/actress and create from those the actual character and their traits. With such a short tuen around process on TV it becomes more important to capture the essence of the character before they say action. Their is no room for error and not enough time create that feeling in the editing room. I believe. I thought Anna Torv did a great job interpreting the mannerisms and voice of Leonard Nemoy. Great job, Anna.

I also have a fondness for comics and cartoons. This last episode of Fringe went total cartoon on me. Awesome! They looked cool as cartoons and it was an inventive way to use it in the story line. It kind of had an early 90's or late 80's cartoon look and feel about it, and they could easily put out the entire show in that format and I would still watch it.

Of course to get to this magical cartoon world they would have to do LSD, which Walter is very familiar with, and enter into Olivia's mind; which is full of pit falls. I had a good laugh when Agent Phillip Broyles, Lance Reddick, accidentally got dosed with acid and started tripping balls. Lance was very convincing and funny yet sad at the same time. Good job.

I am very excited to see how the rest of the season plays out. Will one of the universes be destroyed? Can peace be made or is the machine be used for destruction?

Tune in to find out.
